The Samuel J. Hassenbusch, MD, PhD Scholarship Award is an annual award created by the Texas Pain Society to honor the memory of TPS Board Member, Dr. Sam Hassenbusch.
Dr. Hassenbusch was an advocate for teaching and spent a majority of his life teaching others what he had learned.

The TPS Board of Directors will present this award yearly to a public representative who has helped make positive changes in the pain medicine world. This year’s award will be presented to Senator Tommy Williams at our 3rd Annual Scientific Meeting. Senator Williams is recognized for his many accomplishments during the 82nd legislative session.
